This is my goof-off bike. Really, if you want to improve your skills, buy a 125. It will teach you how to maintain speed in corners, and use the clutch correctly. You can’t get sloppy on a 125, or it will punish you.
I picked this 2002 YZ125 from Fun Center here in Durango for $1300 bucks. After abusing the motor for a summer, it finally blew, and I replaced it with one I found on eBay out of a 2004 YZ125. Then, I dented the right fork badly around the seal. So I replaced them with a set I got on eBay ($45 bucks). That’s the beauty of these bikes — very swappable, and parts are readily available and cheap.
